Cafe Assistant

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Cafe Assistant. As a vital member of our cafe, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional service to our customers. The position involves a variety of tasks, including serving customers, preparing and serving food and beverages, and maintaining cleanliness in the cafe.

Responsibilities
         Customer Service:

• Greet customers with a friendly and welcoming demeanour.

• Take customer orders, provide recommendations, and ensure a positive dining experience.

• Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues in a professional manner
  
  ​​Food and Beverage Preparation:

• Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffees, teas, and specialty drinks.

• Assist in the preparation of simple food items such as sandwiches, pastries, and snacks.

• Ensure the quality and presentation of all food and beverages meet the cafe's standards.
  
  Cleaning and Maintenance:

• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in all areas of the cafe, including the dining area, bar area and kitchen

• Wash dishes, utensils, and equipment as needed.

• Regularly clean and sanitize surfaces to ensure a safe and inviting environment.
  
  Team Collaboration:

• Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure smooth operations during peak hours.

• Communicate effectively with colleagues to coordinate tasks and share information.
   

Expected Skills and Qualifications

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

• Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices is preferable.

• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including days, evenings, and weekends.

• Age 18 or above.

Working Hours

• The cafe is open from 9 am to 10 pm every day.

• The role involves a mixture of days, evenings, and weekends.

Mendip Activity Centre is a year-round multi-activity centre near Bristol. Our 250-acre site boasts free parking, a dry ski slope, a private limestone rock sports quarry, an onsite cave, ancient woodland, an 86-bed residential lodge, family and youth campsites, bar/café and target sports ranges.
