
CAMPSITE WARDEN
Contract Dates: 17th April 2023 to 25th September 2023
Salary: 14 per hour
Hours: 32 core hours per week (option for more hours with additional cleaning, maintenance or bar work)
Shift Pattern: 5 days a week with 2 days off. This role will include every weekend along with evenings and bank holidays.
Holiday: 28 days pro rata

Purpose and Objective of the Role
The Warden's role is primarily focused on caring for our clients during our peak family camping season when the campsite is open to the general public.
Outside of the public camping season we also have private weekend bookings including school groups and youth groups.
The role will require great communication skills and close communication with our operations team, management team, campsite receptions, facilities team, and housekeeping team.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Private Clients

Providing welcome talks and briefings

Evening patrolling

Supporting Facilities and Housekeeping team in changeover on Fridays and Sundays
Public Clients

Supporting campsite receptionists​

Security and safety patrols throughout the evening focusing on:

Noise and Behaviour

Fire Safety

Safety checks
-
Booking checks
-
On occasion, following up with guests the morning after if there have been any issues

Communicate with our Senior Team any issues and suggested improvements

Communicate and engage in conversation with our guests providing information and upselling products

On-call to support maintenance and security issues

General maintenance and light gardening including strimming, weeding & watering

Litter picking​

Enhanced DBS: YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE AN ENHANCED DBS. Our business involves working closely with children and will require an enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check with a check of the barred lists. (We can help you gain this if necessary)

A number of years of experience in hospitality/leisure/campsites delivering a great customer experience.
Working at Mendip
Mendip Activity Centre is a year-round multi-activity centre near Bristol. Our 250-acre site boasts free parking, a dry ski slope, a private limestone rock sports quarry, an onsite cave, ancient woodland, an 86-bed residential lodge, family and youth campsites, bar/café and target sports ranges.
