CURRICULUM FOCUSED DAYS
Our Curriculum linked activity days bring your lessons to life and ensure that learning outside the classroom is engaging, fun and relevant.
-
Combine a canoe river trip with a caving session to embed topics such as watercourses, the water-cycle or erosion.
-
Explore our historic mineral mine Sandford Levy, to embed a wide range of topics including history, geography and science; the mine was not only mined for minerals, it was also used as a secret station for a Home Guard Auxiliary Unit during the Second World War.
-
Go on a more adventurous caving trip to see geology and the underground world up close.
-
Bring map-reading to life with an orienteering or navigation session and develop young people’s resilience and self sufficiency in this ever dependant digital world.
-
Bushcraft and woodland sessions alongside initiative exercises allow for science, geography and environmental studies in-action, plus encourage students to develop creative and communication skills.

ENRICHMENT ACTIVITY DAYS
Looking for an exciting day to treat your class for great attendance, hard work, or a post-SATS reward?
Organising a secondary school enrichment week and looking for some exciting new activities for your students to learn?
Do you have a sport premium budget that you need to spend?
Our Activity Days are the perfect option for you! Our fully qualified instructors can deliver a programme of activities for groups of over 7 pupils, up to whole year groups of over 200 students. Talk to our team about your needs and we’ll deliver activity days to remember.

BTEC QUALIFICATIONS OR GCSE LEARNING
Mendip is fast becoming the go-to provider for collecting practical evidence for the range of Level 2 and Level 3 sport BTEC qualifications. Mendip’s activities and varying venues provide the perfect opportunity for candidates to collect evidence towards their qualifications.
You can choose from a wide range of activities including climbing, kayaking, canoeing, mountain biking, skiing, orienteering or caving; during the sessions, learners will develop new practical skills and develop new knowledge in a safe environment.
Our team will undergo reviews with them and help them to improve their performance, whilst you carry out their assessment.
Our GCSE activity embedded revision days provide students with the perfect environment to develop new knowledge for their courses.

INDUCTION DAYS / TEAM BUILDING
There are several stages during a young person’s schooling that an induction day will be necessary to help them build new relationships, develop team-work skills and have a go at being a leader and a follower.
Whether you have specific objectives for your students, or you are simply after a fun team building day, we can help.
Our friendly instructors will take teams just outside their comfort zone through a shared, rewarding and memorable experience to help them create real connections with their peers and teachers.
Using initiative exercises or outdoor adventure, students learn to trust and respect each other and learn to value and embrace different skill sets.

ongoing ACTIVITY PROGRAMME
We are able to put together an activity programme for your students over a term or school year in a range of activities to build resilience, confidence and a love for the outdoors.
Or, you could choose for students to develop a particular skill set through progressive sessions. Following national governing body frameworks, students can develop skills in paddlesports, rock sports, target sports, navigation, snowsports or bushcraft.
Book an ongoing caving programme, allowing students to explore progressively more adventurous caves in the Mendips and even South Wales.
Students can learn to kayak or canoe over several sessions and finish the programme with an exciting river expedition on a local river such as the River Avon, or even a fast-moving river further afield.
On a climbing programme, students will climb and abseil on a wide range of venues throughout Somerset and, by the end of the course, be able to safely climb with a partner with minimal supervision.
