TOBOGGANING
at Mendip Activity Centre
Tobogganing is our most popular activity and thing to do in Somerset! Children and adults blast down our floodlit Toboggan slope on colourful Zibob toboggans, laughing and smiling. A light sprinkler system makes the slope extra slippery and the running up and down is guaranteed to burn off energy.
The slope is open air, floodlit and goes ahead in all-weather. The covered spectator area - and accessible viewing platform - ensures parents can safely view their children.
The activity is perfect for ages 4 to 12 but if you book a private session, teenagers and adults can find their inner child and also take part.
TWILIGHT TOBOGGANING
’Tis the season for Twilight Tobogganing! Running from 5th November 2026 to 3rd January 2027, these magical sessions are perfect for festive family adventures.
Twilight Tobogganing has been running for over 10 years and its popularity means peak dates always sell out fast. It's become a tradition with families returning each year to create core memories.
Kick off your adventure by racing down the slope lit by dazzling fairy lights and lasers, dusted with snowflakes from a real Hollywood-style snow machine. After earning your Santa-approved Toboggan License, follow the woodland trail to a magical hidden grotto lit with sparkling fairy lights under the shelter of a spectacular tree canopy.
This is a unique hour-long unique experience with no hidden costs and loads of added extras like hot chocolate, sparklers and s'mores.

DISCO TOBOGGANING
Give your winter adventures a glow-up with Disco Tobogganing, back in January 2027!
Boogie on down for a groovy good time of Tobogganing, Disco-pop tunes, and photo opportunities. It’s a family-friendly party for children and young people ages 4 to 12, and adults can join in too when you book an exclusive 30-minute session!
Zip down the open-air all-weather slope decorated with funky lights and run back up again to a soundtrack of Disco classics and modern pop music sure to brighten the winter days. Bring your brightest outfits and find out who is the fastest on the slope - and has the best dance moves - then snap fabulous photos among the shimmering decorations.
