Cafe-bar at Mendip Activity Centre
The Alpine Lounge is Mendip Activity Centre's alpine-style cafe based at the main centre in Churchill, North Somerset.
The cafe is open every day from 9am. Join us for a post-activity snack and drink or enjoy a relaxed cake, coffee, or meal surrounded by beautiful Somerset countryside.
With kid's meals, a grab-and-go menu, and hot food every-day, the Alpine Lounge is a great place to visit with the whole family or to meet friends. Plus, our upstairs function room is a great space for a corporate event hire, party or family event.
Menu
The Alpine Lounge menu offers a relaxed, Alpine inspired dining experience with something for everyone, served daily from breakfast through to lunch and dinner. Enjoy freshly made breakfast rolls in the morning, followed by hearty paninis, seasoned fries and classic comfort food from 11am.
The highlight is a selection of authentic 12 inch stone baked Italian pizzas, including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options. Weekend specials add indulgent dirty fries, jacket potatoes and kids meals.
The menu is friendly, flexible and designed to suit families, groups and casual catch ups, with allergy advice always available.

The Alpine Lounge closes at the same time as Mendip Activity Centre, varying between 6pm and 10pm throughout the year. Hot food can be ordered up to one hour before closing times.
Most importantly, we have plenty of space and so there is no option to pre-book a table.
Venue Hire
The Alpine Lounge's upstairs function room and balcony are well suited to venue hire including space for presentations and large meetings. This room can sit 60 people or host up to 100 people mixed standing and seated. There is also a small meeting room for up to 10 people.
