CHEF/COOK

This is an exciting opportunity to join our Alpine Lounge Catering Team to lead the kitchen and help us develop and deliver a quality menu.  Join our busy team working primarily in our Alpine Lounge Roof Top Cafe-Bar and our Mendip Lodge. Assist the team in our provision for our Residential Centre and Campsite working with a wide range of clients including schools, corporate clients, groups and families.

The role will be to drive the quality and delivery of our catering provision, train and inspire our team and help to grow our custom.

​

The majority of our Alpine Lounge custom comes in the evenings, at weekends and holiday periods. In non holiday periods, the cafe-bar is open from around 3pm to 10pm in the evening and between 9pm and 7pm on a weekend. 

​

A suitable candidate will be quick to learn how our business operates and the procedures we follow. The right person will manage their time efficiently; good organisational skills are essential. The job requires a polite courteous approach to all communication.

• Prepping/cooking food

• Driving the development of our menu

• Training the staff team

• Taking food orders

• Serving

• Cleaning 
   

Expected Skills and Qualifications

• Experience working in a busy cafe/restaurant kitchen

• Previous cook / chef experience

• Knowledge of allergies and special diets

• Good communication skills

• Age 18+

• Full, clean driving license

Desirable Skills and Qualifications

• Experience using a barista coffee machine

• Hold a valid Food Hygiene certificate

• Current DBS Certificate (if not, we will help the right candidate apply for one)

• Age 21+ for vehicle insurance
