Basecamp is our award-winning campsite. Hosting school activity residentials during term time and open to families throughout the holidays.
We work closely with schools and teachers all year and know how hard you work. We’re offering FREE camping so you can relax and recharge in the great outdoors with your family this summer. It's also a great opportunity to check out our facilities and activity centre.
Do you qualify?
Available for qualified teachers currently employed in state or independent schools and colleges in England or Wales.
For teachers and up to four others from their immediate family. You can pay for additional guests.
'Off-peak' nights throughout the 2024 summer holidays. (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights).
Free camping at Mendip Basecamp. Activities can also be booked at Mendip Activity Centre in advance for half-price.
There are a limited number of spaces each night so applications will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.

Over 20 activities across our 250-acre site!
Choose from a range of activities including water sports, rock sports, target sports and land sports. Our instructors are the best in the business and will ensure you and your family have the best experience, be that on rock climbing, kayaking, caving, tobogganing, disc golf, axe throwing, archery or paddle boarding!
As part of this deal, we'll offer you half-price activities during your stay. Just let us know what you want to book!
SCHOOL RESIDENTIALS
Outdoor activity school residentials provide young people with unrivalled opportunities and educational experiences gained through adventure.
Mendip Activity Centre provide school outdoor education residentials all year round.
Choose from our Basecamp canvas accommodation, our pop-up tented village or our residential country Lodge.
Mendip's school camps are action-packed weeks with all catering, accommodation and activities included.
