Dates:  Various hours between May 2024 and September 2024

​Salary: From National Living Wage (depending on age and experience)

Mendip Basecamp (mendipbasecamp.com) is an offgrid family campsite perched in the Mendip Hills. We have capacity for 650 campers in tents and campervans. Fixed bunk tents, pitched bell tents and lodge bunks offer further accommodation.
 

The site is linked to Mendip Activity Centre (www.mendip.co.uk) which offers our campers a full program of bookable outdoor activities, cafe / bar facilities and live music and entertainment. The local area has loads to offer visitors and as a campsite we aim to offer entertainment throughout the week.
 

For the 2024 season we are looking for team members who can wear a variety of hats but first and foremost must have enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Team members who no matter what they are doing, have our guest's enjoyment as their core objective.
 

Our Basecamp check in, guest services, retail, and food service operate from our main Pavilion everyday from 8am until 10pm.


Responsibilities​

  • Check guests in using a computer system

  • Confidently share full site information highlighting key points

  • Upsell retail and activities and offer general tourist information

  • Assist with enquiries and problems

  • Assist with retail sales

  • Ensure retail area is fully stocked and assist with ordering

  • Clean and tidy pavilion area

  • Periodically check facilities and ensure site is well presented

  • Make barista style coffee (training can be given)

  • Serve breakfast and fast food options (Catering experience is not necessary but if you have it - even better.)
     

If you're also happy to get involved and wear our park mascot or have face-painting, hair-braiding, balloon modelling or other festival or circus type skills this would be an excellent addition.

Mendip Activity Centre is a year-round multi-activity centre near Bristol. Our 250-acre site boasts a dry ski slope, a private limestone rocksports quarry, an onsite cave, ancient woodland, an 86 bed residential lodge, family and youth campsites, bar/café’s and target sport ranges.

Camping on site is available onsite at a small charge but note that we are off-grid. Included are hot showers, toilets, washing up facilities, clothes washing, wifi, shared fridge and covered communal area.
 

Hours are flexible and will depend on skills but will also fluctuate with our opening times:

24th May- 2nd June

Fri-Sun only 7th June - 21st July

Daily 26th July - 1st Sept

Essential Criteria 

  • Age 17+ 

​

Desirable Criteria 

  • Age 18+

  • Driving License 

  • Experience using a Barista coffee machine 

  • Experience in customer service
