Mendip Adventure is thrilled to be partnering with the Winter Mission Britain challenge, featuring graduates from the first ever Accelerated Outdoor Instructor Training course!

Starting on 6th October, the Winter Mission Britain challenge will take a team of three young men - Harvey Ellis, Seamus Mohan, and Thomas Crowther - along 5,240 miles of UK coast path over 180 days.

The mission aims to raise a total of £100k for a number of charities. These charities are focused on: protecting Britain's waterways, connecting young people with nature, and keeping the light on for mental health and suicide-prevention support.

It will also highlight environmental, mental health, and inequality issues along the way - causes that are incredibly important to the team.

Meeting Through Adventure

Harvey and Seamus trained on Mendip's first ever Accelerated Outdoor Instructor Training Course in 2021 to 2022. There, they met and discovered their joint passion for adventure.

Five years later, they have teamed up with Thomas, another keen adventurer, to take on this amazing challenge.

Bringing Communities Together

Throughout the journey, the team will be posting updates on every aspect of the journey - both the good and the bad. They will share inspiring stories from the people, clubs, and communities that they meet along the way.

“Running has the power to bring communities together,” Seamus says, “It can spark a cascade of changes that we know we need to see.”

Supporting the Team with Essential Equipment

Mendip is supporting the team by purchasing essential equipment for the challenge: a Terra Nova tent designed for use in tough conditions, and three Atom Packs rucksacks.

"This is an incredible challenge, and Mendip are really proud of Harvey, Seamus, and Tom for taking it on," says David Eddins, co-owner of Mendip Adventure, "What they are supporting is right at the heart of what Mendip is all about. We are thrilled to be a partner!"

Mendip is looking forward to following the team as they complete their run across the UK, and hopes that this will inspire more people to make time for adventure.
