Searching for Winter Olympic Success

We were thrilled to watch Dave Ryding win Great Britain's first EVER Gold in an Alpine World Cup and so we are excited to see how he gets on at the Winter Olympics in Beijing. Dave Ryding, a legend of British skiing, learnt to ski at a dry ski slope just like Mendips.

Mendip's Thursday evening race club has seen a recent influx of participants who have been inspried by his success and the excitement of the Olympics. Available for juniors and adults it's a fun way to refine your technique and play around with slalom poles.

Jenny Jones

Jenny Jones made history when she won Great Britain's first snowboarding Olympic medal. Jenny is from Bristol and first tried on snowboard boots here at Churchill on the snowsports slope. Did you know? We have a snowboard signed by Jenny in our reception.

Bobsleigh, Luge & Skeleton

Surely, these are just fancier names for our most popular activity, tobogganing! We know plenty of young tobogganers who would fancy a go at competing. We have toboggan slots for families, children or you can email info@mendip.co.uk for an adult-only booking!

We're enjoying watching the Olympics and so would like to wish Team GB all the best of luck!

If you've been inspired to get active and try out some winter sports, you can book them at Mendip Activity Centre.
